Mudança de ares! - To a new beginning

Um pequeno "preview" do novo espaço de restauro, com outro tipo de condições e outro tipo de ferramentas, uma espécie de laboratório de mecânica, confesso que fiquei impressionado.
Não tem absolutamente nada a ver com a primeira oficina, se é que se pode chamar de oficina, além de que o género de profissionalismo é de outro nível, passando de practicamente inexistente para fora do comum.
Estou bastante entusiasmado, é uma nova etapa, um novo começo, uma nova vida.

" Small preview of the new restoration workshop, has a slightly different type of conditions and tools, its almost as one of my university's laboratory, i must confess, i was quite impressed, has absolutely nothing to do with the first workshop, if that's even the word for it, the degree of professionalism has also changed from nil to outstanding.
I am thrilled, its a new stage, a new start and new life"

Suspension Christmas!

Já não actualizava o blog há demasiado tempo, felizmente tenho andado ocupado!
"I haven't updated for awhile, fortunately i've been busy!"

Decidi adiantar as compras e comprei muitas peças,
- Molas e amortecedores (comprados na Rimmerbros), serviço impecável, recomendo vivamente.
    - As molas são OEM standard, os amortecedores são Bilstein, standard.
- Casquilhos, parafusos, porcas, anilhas, retentores, rolamentos, bump stops, etc etc etc, tudo comprado na Britcar, serviço excepcional.
- 2x complete AP lockheed kit de reparação para o servo-freio com instruções originais, teve que ser, senti-me na responsabilidade de tratar delicadamente do sistema de travagem
" I decided to get ahead on my shopping list and bought quite a few things,
- Springs and shock absorbers (bought from rimmerbros), impeccable costumer service, i highly recommend .
    - The springs are OEM and the shocks are Bilstein, all standard as from factory production, shame they don't make woodhead's anymore.
- Bolts, washers, screws, bump stops, gaskets, bushes, bearing, etc etc, all bought from Britcar, which also has a great costumer service and i do highly recommend.
- 2x complete AP lockheed servo repair kit with all original fitting instructions, very expensive part, bought those for a bargain price of 25 GBP, well worth  it, specially if you're trying to keep everything as original as possible and you do not joke around braking systems on a 2 ton piece of metal"

Contudo, mesmo tendo gasto uma pequena fortuna em peças, ainda me faltam 3 ou 4 para ter absolutamente tudo novo para montar o chassis e os eixos, num restauro "nut&bolt" é preciso ter muita paciência, até porque nem todas as peças estão disponíveis.

In a nut&bolt restoration you must be patient as a lot of the parts you need are obsolete and nowhere to be found! "
