Range Rover 1972: Montar Eixos e molas - Axles and Springs

Já não vinha actualizar o blog há algum tempo, não é por mal, a falta de tempo e paciência não ajudam, enfim, o projecto vai andando, os restauros demoram muito tempo e desta forma parece que tiro maior proveito das várias etapas. 

Vamos ao que interessa então. 

O plano inicial seria montar os eixos, arma-los e aparafusar as rodas de modo a ter um "rolling chassis", depois disto entraria a parte da carroçaria e da chapa. O plano não mudou muito, a única diferença parte pela substituição da carroçaria pela mecânica. Ou seja, vou começar pela mecânica.

Nas próximas semanas os eixos estarão armados e devidamente acoplados ao chassis, o motor será totalmente desmontado e revisto, assim como a caixa de velocidades. Após o devido restauro, serão novamente acoplados (motor e caixa) para que se possa finalmente monta-los ao chassis. Este é o plano, como sabem há sempre algo que falta e é por isso que estas coisas demoram o seu tempo.

Deixo em anexo 16 fotografias da montagem do eixo da frente e de trás com os respectivos tirantes e molas. Foi uma verdadeira aventura, principalmente sozinho. 

" I haven´t updated my blog for awhile now, not intentionally obviously, the lack of time and patience don't help much, oh well, project is running along, you know how it is with these things, restorations take time. I have however, taking in a lot of experience and knowledge from this. I love it.

Alright, straight to the point.

The inicial plan was to build the car from the ground up, taking the axles re-assembling them and bolting them on to the chassis, so that we could have a rolling chassis. From this we would be able to start dealing with the Range Rover´s body. The plan hasn't changed much, i decided it was better to deal with the mechanics first, its easier now since we don't have anything in the way, like a 2 ton carriage. 

On the next couple of weeks, the axles will hopefully be re-assembled and we will move on to the engine and gearbox. They will suffer from a full on rebuild, taken apart bolt by bolt and every inch checked and dealt with. I am sure you will be looking forward to some photos of that!

Anyway, this is the current plan, but as you know, there is always something missing, thats why these things take time. Be patient, i will try to as well.
