Uma das peças mais difíceis de restaurar e mais importante de um Range Rover, é o "Goalpost", o que é o goal post perguntam?
Simples...
O Goalpost é um "pilar" estrutural, tal com o Bulkhead e o pilar A e B, que serve única e exclusivamente a traseira do carro. Todos os carros têm um goalpost, apesar de mais moderna ou diferente, há sempre, uma estrutura traseira como esta.
O Goalpost é apertado e unido por um crossmember inferior, que aparafusa directamente ao chassis através de dois apoios, e por aí, acaba por ser (fora todos os pormenores de ser um suffix A) uma peça fundamental à segurança dos passageiros e do carro em si.
Pormenores suffix A:
* a forma circular da região por onde passam os cabos elétricos.
* a pequena deformação central na parte superior (em 73 eliminada para dar espaço ao limpa vidros traseiro)
* as soldaduras por pontos e o crossmember.

One of the hardest and most important body component´s to restore has to be the goalpost, what´s a goalpost you ask?
Its quite simple...
The Goalpost is a structural pillar, just like the Bulkhead or the A and B pillars, it is used strictly as backbone to the rear-end of the car. Every car has one, more modern or slightly different perhaps, but still present and essential to have.
It is joined by the crossmember, which bolts directly to the chassis by two body mounts, it is therefor, a fundamental piece in the integrity and safety of the vehicle and it´s passengers.
Suffix A details:
* the circular holes you see on each pillar on the goalpost, the rear cluster wiring goes through there, they are unique on suffix A´s and B´s.
* the upper central "deformity", it was deleted in 1973 with the introduction of the rear wiper.
* almost everything is spot welded, the crossmember is no exception."
